Darul Uloom Pretoria Inter-Student Competition 2018 Semi Final (100th Urs of Ala Hazrat)
The Darul Uloom Pretoria Hosted its Semi finals student competition. The competition consisted of 10 students who made it to the semi finals after auditions for 5 different categories. The categories are: Qiraat, Naat, Arabic Lecture, English Lecture and Urdu Lecture. In each of the categories the institutes multinational students contested and displayed their abilities to prestigious guest judges.
As with every academic year, students of the Pretoria Educational Centre took part in the inter-student competition for Qiraat, Naat and Lecture (in English, Arabic and Urdu). The competition typically consists of 3 rounds with an elimination process whereby the highest positioned participants in each category proceed to the next round. After the first round, approximately ten students advanced from each category based on the averaging of results given by multiple adjudicators. As such, the semi final that was held during the course of the day on the 27th October was a competitive affair where students fitter showcased their abilities. The theme that was set out this year was, however, special and unique. All students had to speak about the life, work and status of Ala Hazrat Imama Ahmad Raza Khan on the occasion of his 100th Urs Celebration. Furthermore, Naat Reciters tendered praises of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عليه و آله وسلم in the poetry written by Ala Hazrat.
