Laudium Muslim community hosts youth soccer tournament
It was a fun filled day in which the Muslim community of Laudium participated in an interschool soccer tournament. Competitors included the Darul of Uloom Pretoria as well as Madrassah Imam Ahmed Raza, Pretoria Muslim Trust Sunni School & Al-Ghazali College.
The tournament was divided into competitions for various age groups with the Darul Uloom Pretoria under 17 boys victorious in their category. The final for this age group was a hard fought battle between the PMT Sunni school and the Pretoria Islamic Educational Centre, with the Darul Uloom emerging victorious. The under 19 category final was another match that went down to the wire with the PMT Sunni School emerging victorious over the Darul Uloom Pretoria boys.
The youth of Laudium thoroughly enjoyed this tournament with was held in an Islamic atmosphere. We hope that such tournaments are regularly held as they bring about healthy, competitive sporting activities and a sense of unity among communities.
